The War Room

The Ral Partha 25mm Colonial figures are ideally suited for use with The Sword and The Flame, which can be ordered directly from the And That's the Way It Was zShop.

To indicate wounded and killed figures, rather than resting the figures on their front or back, you may wish to use Eldritch Gems available from EM4 Miniatures: red ones for dead, white for British wounded, and black for native wounded. This is great because I'm less likely to chip the paint, and the battlefield still has some kind of order after a bloody engagement.

The line of dead and wounded from both sides after a fierce clash!

Rorke's Drift
01 December 2004

The infamous battle of Rorke's Drift is recreated, where 40 men and officers of the 24th South Wales Borderers face 120 Zulus. This game is rather different from previous games we've played, because the British do not have to advance, and the terrain is much more open, allowing for some good shooting while the Zulus make their initial charge.

Pursuit
19 September 2004

The British in Natal decide to pursue the kidnappers. Captain Campbell leads two platoons and a field gun across the border into Zululand, encounters overwhelming Zulu resistance!

Kidnap
14 April 2004

A first skirmish between a British platoon, and sixty Zulus, based around a partially hypothetical incident.
